There are communities all over America that are trying to attract people, bringing in new blood,

0:06.9

you know, new industry, new creativity, new entrepreneurs, and they're paying people to move there,

0:13.9

which is an interesting idea because I bet a lot of us, maybe even most of us, daydream about a place that we'd like to live, a place we thought we would live someday. But for most of us, that never happens. We always have an odd woman in the crowd. So it's kind of odd. We're just sightedly odd. And that strike you as a little bit odd. No, it doesn't strike me as a little bit odd. It's the Bob and Sherry oddcast with stuff we wouldn't, couldn't, or shouldn't do on the regular show. Now, here's the

0:43.4

oddcast. So it kind of was really accentuated by the COVID quarantines. You know, people discovered

0:52.8

1:34.6

handful of Ascend communities, and they will not only give you cash money to go live there, but you

1:40.9

get all sorts of cool stuff, like free zip line passes and tickets to museums

1:46.1

and that sort of thing. Tulsa, Oklahoma has a program called Tulsa Remote. It was the first

1:52.7

program of its kind, offering remote workers and entrepreneurs 10 grand to move to Tulsa. Just stay for a

1:59.6

year. That's all they said. Please just stay for a year.

2:02.7

Well, 2,900 people accepted that deal. And those people have so far generated over $300 million

2:11.3

in direct employment income. So Tulsa is really happy about it. Indianapolis has a program where, I'm sorry,

2:20.6

Indiana has a program where they want you to, it's called Make My Move, and they want you to come

2:27.1

to Noblesville, which is a suburb of Indianapolis. They want you to come to Evansville, Indiana.
