D takeover our school district has been taken over oh my god our school district

HISD Houston's school district was a cesspool of crime and failure and just like

third-world governments or major urban city municipal governments in the

midst of all that there were individuals siphoning off funds through corruption

for themselves and their friends from the contracts to perform the services for

the schools of which they get a kickback or at a minimum of political

contribution to the hiring of friends on the bloated administrative staffs to

the lack of any standards in the schools that were failing by any measure schools

are not to serve teachers schools are to serve the community by preparing the

youth of the community that they may graduate from that school and enter into

our workforce our society with the skillset necessary it's the idea is to

democratize learning so that every person that might be called to serve on a

jury every person that you may see in the grocery store every person that you

might potentially hire or be a neighbor with every person would have the

fundamentals of reading and writing mathematics communication but the schools

were failing HISD was failing terribly so that state of Texas cared enough about

those children to upset their parents who were very easily manipulated and more

importantly to upset the school district the teachers and administrators themselves

Mike Miles is a modern day hero the new superintendent who came in knowing that

he's walking the hall and being hissed at he showed up to speak at a conference

he held for the teachers to get ready to go back to school and they booed him it
