Welcome to our Rosary meditation.

Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

It's called in mind all those we've promised to pray for,

especially we all continue to

pray for the healing and full recovery of Olivia Caneli.

She's had over 50 days without a cluster seizure and now we're asking for the intercession of Pauline Jericho for the complete recovery of this little wonderful girl.

Now pause for a moment you can call to mind your own petitions.

In Colossians 124 St. Paul wrote

It makes me happy to suffer for you, as I am suffering now, and in my

own body to do what I can to make up all that still has to be undergone by Christ for the sake of his body, the church.

If the suffering of Jesus is sufficient to save the world, why would Paul say he wants to make up all that is still to be

undergone by Christ?

Because God invites us to participate in all he does. This idea of participation is where we get the

phrase offer it up and it is why Jesus says we cannot be his disciples unless we

take up our own cross and follow him every day.

Still offering it up is a very misunderstood Catholic thing,

but once we understand how God has given us a way to participate in his being in action, our suffering can become a powerful

force to give meaning, purpose, and hope, and even happiness to our life including our suffering.

But to understand how we can help others by our suffering,

we have to grasp this idea, this theological idea of participation.

That's the idea that God has enabled us
