Remembering Elliott Smith five years after his death. We talk to Ellen Carpenter at Spin Magazine. It was her job to fact check all of the coverage, to interview all of his loved ones and pore over each of his songs. It altered her relationship to his music and affected her deeply. We celebrate his music, but also talk about his life...which wasn't a very happy one.
