All righty, we're on the day 6th of the Delphi murder trial and we're catching up on all that happened during yesterday's session.

All righty court was in session yesterday at around 9.06 a.m. in the Delphi Murders Trial.

Judge Francis Gull informed the courtroom that the jury was allowed access to their phones to call family, view any possible work

emails they might have, and as the jury has been sequestered, well, they've been

unable to access any electronics. The first witness on the stand was Kathy Shank, a retired DCS worker who volunteered as a quote-unquote

secretary for the investigation.

Kathy explained that during the course of the investigation,

she had roughly handled 14,000 tips.

When asked why she volunteered, Kathy replied that she just wanted to help.

Kathy was then asked to talk about how she came across the defendant's name

during her volunteer work. Kathy explained that on September 21st, 2022, she had come

across the file folder that was not with the others that she was working on.

When she took a look inside the folder, she saw a report with the name Richard Allen

Whiteman. The report contained information that said Richard admitted to being on the

Monin High Bridge on the day of the alleged murders. After making this

discovery, Kathy called Carroll County Sheriff Tony Liggett, who was the then lead detective on the case before being appointed a sheriff.
