Hi friends, I'm Annie F. Downs. Let's read the Gospels. The Gospels are the first books

of the New Testament in the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These are the stories

of Jesus Christ's life on earth, the friendships, the parables, the sacrifices, the meals, the

miracles. Each month this year we've gotten to read all four books. So far in October

we have done. Mark, Matthew, John, and now we are finishing up with the Book of Luke.

The last eight days of the month are in the Book of Luke and you're going to love it. Oh,

I love the Book of Luke. Well, I love them all, but Luke is really fun. So if you're enjoying

spending time in the Gospels with us every day and find someone to join you, today is

a great day for them to jump in and do a book with us. So if someone's invited you and

you jumped in today, you are going to get to hear the Book of Luke. And then I hope you'll

stick around and commit for the month of November to go through all four books with us as

we walk toward the holiday season and the end of the year. Okay, so here's how this works.

I'm going to read three chapters to you. You can listen or read along in your own Bible

and your NRSV Catholic Edition or in your NRSV. And then I'll pray. And that's it. So

today is October 22nd. I'll be reading John, chapters 20 and 21 and Luke chapter 1. And

this month, I'm reading from the NRSV Catholic Edition. John 20, early on the first day of

the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and saw that the stone had

been removed from the tomb. So she ran and went to Simon Peter and the other disciple,

the one whom Jesus loved and said to them, they have taken the Lord out of the tomb and

we do not know where they have laid him. Then Peter and the other disciples set out and
