Gordon Hayward going down just over five minutes into the game last night.

They're showing him arriving at the hospital.

They were showing that on TV now.

Now there is, by the way, Danny Roach in Cleveland yesterday calling him, ringing voicemail. He's sleeping in, man. Big night. He probably, you know, got a little sad. The Dan man sleeping past 7 o'clock. That ain't like Danny. Maybe he was a little depressed because Kyrie Irving kind of, you know, schooled him a little bit. How shocking was it? Come on, man. Come on, man. There you guys saw it. Come on, man.

That was a stupid question.

May I introduce you to Mr. Dan Roach, Cairo. You're going to be spending a lot of time with him.

Yeah, how shocking was it? Oh, you know, I'm used to guys going down and breaking their legs.

It happens, you know, every other game.

It's just part of the game is breaking your leg like that.

But there is guarded optimism.

in such a way that he could return by March.

Yeah, it's a, I don't want to say best case scenario, but it's not a worst case. There's the ligaments and tendon damage is apparently minimal. This is all stuff that's going to be confirmed at the hospital. As Fred was saying, there's pictures of him, you know, rowing in there, and the surgery is going to be done today. but in the meantime, you know, there has been a lot of, I don't know, like the house is on fire.

And the ship is going down because Gordon Hayward is out.

And I saw that yesterday.

It's like, well, now they can just hope for a six seat at best.

And that's insane.

Because first of all, take a look at the east. And when you look at all of the teams and who actually got better, there's only one team that you can point at and said, this team got better, and that's the Boston Celtics. So even without Gordon Hayward, you still have an upgrade with Kyrie Irving. You've got rebounding now. Jalen Brown is going to be a guy that over the time that Hayward's going to be out is going to get a hell of a lot more time than he normally was. At 20 years old, that guy scored 25 points in his opening game against LeBron James. That's impressive. On top of that, all these guys, the younger guys, are going to have a little more time with Brad Stevens, and they're going to have a little bit of time to gel.

Now, there is obviously a significant problem with Hayward out. And that is, Fred, what was the biggest problem about last year's team? It was that IT was like the only go-to guy to describe. That was it. You had one guy that you could count on if you got the ball. He's a guy that could score. This team had essentially not considering the young guys because we still don't quite know how good they are yet. You had two guys that were go-to to score. Kyrie Irving could do it at will, and so could Gordon Hayward. And now once again, you're back to that one dependable guy. Well, you're depending. Which makes him a lot easier to defend i i like what you see out of jalen brown obviously jalen brown's going to be that number

two guy for better or for worse and if he has to learn on the job he has to learn on the job and you're

going to see a lot of that he's going to be the guy and you saw him miss a key three at the end but

i'd like him i like him taking that shot because he's going to need to take a lot more of them as time
