Okay, so this was a pretty dumb crisis, this debt ceiling crisis, as we've said many times.

It was intractable.

Republicans had no demands.

They were just saying they wouldn't vote for a debt limit increase.

And Democrats were suggesting that they wouldn't put the debt ceiling in the fast-track budget process called

reconciliation. This was a stupid crisis and it could end with a dumb, lame deal.
