0:38.3	The first topic is using the prevent calculator to determine cardiovascular risk.
0:45.3	And this is a study, a post hoc analysis of the sprint trial.
0:50.3	So we'll start by saying that treatment of high blood pressure obviously can be one of the most important primary prevention therapies.
0:57.6	But like so many conditions these days, normal is being debriefed lower and lower.
1:03.5	And I get it because high blood pressure is like LDL exposure, right?
1:07.9	It doesn't do harm so much in weeks or months, but years and decades.
1:12.0	So longer exposure to abnormal blood pressure surely has a compounding effect.
1:17.0	Recent guidance has advocated for a risk-based decision wherein patients with mild hypertension
1:22.7	are treated based on an assessment of their cardiovascular risk.
1:26.5	The old way to do this was with the pooled cohort equation.
1:31.1	This was the same one used in statin decisions.
1:33.7	Simply put, you calculate a risk threshold,
1:37.0	and if you're over that, you treat.
