Welcome to the Rosary. I'm Dr. Troy Hinkle here in Los Angeles, California, actually San Gabriel,

suburb of LA near Alhambra and with a awesome group of people, lots of young people too.

I always love to see that.

So thanks for joining.

Let us begin by calling to mind that we're ever in the presence of Almighty God

and whom we live and move and have our being. We call upon him in the name of the

father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen. We want to offer some

special prayer tonight. We're continuing day two of our 54 day novena,

Rosary novena, but I've been asked to pray for Alex Nichols. He is the son of a woman who works with my niece, Lauren. He's got terrible cancer. We're

praying for him. For Lauren Tray Monte, same thing. She's in North Carolina. Cancer, Renee Garnett, same thing, so Lord, we're giving all serious

illness people to you tonight, especially people struggling with cancer.

The title of our Rosary tonight is Obeying Our Queen.

Today is the Feast of Saint Simeon.

He's in Luke's Gospel. He's the one who prophesies that Jesus will be the rise and fall of many.

And he further prophesied that Mary's heart will be pierced by the sort of sorrow

because he sees clearly her intimacy with Christ on the cross and of course

Christ reveals his cross is his throne and Mary's union makes her our Queen, the Queen of Sorrows and our Queen, especially when people are sorrowing.

Mary brings Jesus to us through the Holy Spirit.

To draw close to Mary is to draw close to Jesus

due to the Spirit's activity.

She says in her Magnificat,
