0:36.6	Hello my friends, it's Sally Clarkson and slowly but surely I'm getting a little bit of my
0:42.3	voice back. There is a thought of all sorts of storms kind of hitting me all at once from allergies
0:51.1	to respiratory infection to throat issues and ear infection. Anyway, I'm back kind of and I promised
1:03.9	you that I would do a few short readings on Monday morning either about the attributes of God or about
1:12.4	something biblical that I've been pondering. And there is something that I studied early, early,
1:21.1	early in my Christian lives that had a real impact on me. I studied the concept of obedience
1:28.2	all the way through Scripture and it was really a wonderful study for me because it kind of
1:36.1	connects the importance of the actions of our lives versus the commitment of our lives. In other
1:47.5	words, we say we have faith but faith without obedience is no faith at all. And so today I'm going to
1:56.6	be talking to you about obedience, the action of authentic faith. Mama, why do I have to obey you and
2:06.1	daddy? Who said you were the ones to be right from one of my children who wanted to do something
2:12.3	that we didn't allow? And as I said before, I want you to repeat this to yourself over and over
2:19.4	again so it will become a mantra to you. Obedience is the action of authentic faith.
2:27.0	The thing I want to say about obedience today, I'll be reading just a few verses about it,
2:32.1	is that obedience isn't primarily an issue of action externally, it's primarily an issue of
2:42.9	heart attitude, willing to act inside. In other words, when God convicts us that, let's say we're
2:54.5	little irritated, and God convicts us that he wants us to be humble and to be patient and to be
3:02.1	to look at the person that we're irritated at and give them grace as he gives us grace.
