from the Midwest all the way to the Eastern Seaboard.

New York City this week, recording the worst ever air quality reading,

as Canada, ironically, was celebrating their National Clean Air Day.

Canada is still struggling to get those wildfires under control,

as some 10 million acres have already been scorched,

and half the fires raging from British Columbia to Quebec and Nova Scotia

are still burning out of control.

Smoke from those wildfires causing the highest level of health alerts in the nation's capital.

Code purple alerts going out across the district,

as the dense toxic smog rolled over the capital.
