This is CBS, I In The World, I'm John Bachelors, Manhattan, the big apple right now, overwhelmed

with a challenge as a sanctuary city of waters said to be 100,000 migrants from the Mexican

Texas border.

Now in the city seeking aid, seeking work, these are families dominated by families and

single men from Central and South America.

They have language skills, some of them some do not.

Right now the city, Mayor Adams leading, is taking responsibility for housing, shelter,

food, medical attention.

However, the bill is gigantic, according to the Wall Street Journal editorial most recently.

It's 9.8 million a day across the shelter population.

The shelter population has always been there but more than 57,000 are now said to be migrants

who have added to the burden, the asylum seekers.

Now the scale of this is difficult to grasp, so I welcome Harry Segal, a senior editor

at the city and online journal, he writes his column for the New York Daily News.

To help me understand what the mayor is saying 9.8 million dollars a day sounds unsustainable,

but then again, he's not going to take away the sanctuary city.

That was a political rhetorical decision some years ago by major cities in the North.

However, the mayor is appealing for help.
