You know, the fact that they're making restitution to the person they've wronged shows that

there's a horizontal dimension to the morality and the purity of the people, but then they also

have to make sacrifice on account of their wrongdoing, which shows the vertical dimension to the

morality and the purity of the people. And I think this section here just kind of provides both of

those big theological ideas as we think about what it means for Israel to be the people of God

that lives with God in their midst.
