Hey, everyone, welcome to episode 37 of Thomas in the Bible, Book of Numbers

Chapter 22.

Let's just get started here.

And the children of Israel set forward and pitched in the plains of Moab on this side, Jordan

by Jericho. On this side, Jordan by Jericho. And Balak, the son of Moab on this side Jordan by Jericho.

On this side Jordan by Jericho.

And Balak, the son of Ziphor, saw all that Israel had done to the Amorites.

And Moab was sore afraid of the people because they were many.

And Moab was distressed because of the children of Israel.

And Moab said, unto the elders of Midian, now shall this company lick up all that are round

about us as the ox licketh up the grass of the field.

That doesn't sound so bad, really.

And Balak, the son of Zippor, was king of the Moabites at that time.

So he's afraid.

So Moab right now is afraid of all the Israelites.

I just imagine how many of them there were before, you know,

they questioned God 80 times and he killed hundreds of thousands of them.

There must have been billions of them just wandering around, killing people.

And so this guy, Moab is afraid.

And he sent messengers, therefore, unto Belam, or Belayam, I don't know, the son of Beor, to Pethor, which is by the river of the land of the children of his people.

To call him, saying, behold, there is a people come out of Egypt.
