started here in just a moment. We're going to be picking up at the beginning of Numbers Chapter 12.

Numbers, we've got a lot of different types of material, but right now we're actually in a

section where we're getting some narrative, we're getting some

story stuff. So the first several chapters of the book were different things, some commandments,

some details about the tabernacle, of course, the census and the very beginning of the different

tribes. But so now, last time we talked about the first, and not the last, incident of something that we're going to see become a recurring theme in numbers.

As we mentioned, not at the very beginning of numbers, actually, but a little ways in, we saw the celebration of the Passover.

We said at that point, it was two years after the Exodus proper, meaning two years

since they had left Egypt.

So in all of Exodus and all of Leviticus and the beginning of the Book of Numbers,

two years had passed.

Over the course of the rest of the book of numbers, 40 years are going to pass.

So there's going to be a lot contained in here.

Obviously, we're not going to get the continuous narrative of everything that happened in those 40 years, right?

As you can tell, based on just the number of chapters involved compared to what we've

already read.

So when we get these narrative pieces, we're getting sort of highlights and major events

and events that are important because they show us a pattern of what's going on.

So we're going to have a story of something happening.
