Three minutes after ten, and these are going to be very, very strange times.

I promise that I will hold your hand as we seek to navigate our way through them

on the condition that you promise to hold mine.

And I do have to just nod briefly towards the other side of the Atlantic

when we watched it happening.

You remember banning journalists from the White House,

official spokespeople

talking about alternative facts, waiting for pennies or cents to drop? And, um, and of course

it never does, culminating in, in the latest remarkable state of affairs, which as we, as we

know, saw the Senate demonstrate its faith in Donald Trump's innocence by depriving

his trial of the right to call witnesses or indeed evidence. And so back to Blighty, where yesterday,

one of the Prime Minister's unelected aides, because, you know, people with whom I've had much

beef over the last few years care passionately about whether or not those involved in British

politics at the highest levels are elected or not.

That's really important.

But anyway, yesterday, an unelected bureaucrat, who presumably used to work for a media

outlet, sought to ban selected journalists from attending a briefing in Downing Street.

And I've got to tell you, even as someone who perhaps leans towards the skeptical as opposed to the

hysterical, I still can't quite get my head around that.

But just start the countdown.
