As the conflict in the Middle East reaches its fifth day, questions are being raised about

Israel's justification for attacking Iran.

Israeli officials say Iran was racing towards creating a nuclear bomb, but US intelligence

says otherwise. Four people familiar with recent

US assessments say not only was Iran up to three years away from being able to produce a nuclear

weapon, it also wasn't actively pursuing one. And after days of Israeli strikes, forces claim they've

done serious damage to Iran's nuclear

program.

But one of the US sources says officials believe they've actually only set it back by a matter

of months.

President Donald Trump still says Iran was on the verge of creating a nuclear weapon,

disputing testimony his own director of national intelligence gave last

month. Talking to reporters on Air Force One, Trump shot down suggestions that he was working

on a ceasefire between the two countries, saying he was working on something better.
