As Southwest Airlines flight scheduled for takeoff was struck by a bullet at Dallas's

Lovefield Airport Friday night, NPR's Dave Mistich has our details.

A spokesperson for Southwest Airlines says flight 2494 taxied safely back to the terminal

after being struck just under the flight deck.

The company says the crew was preparing the flight for departure for Indianapolis.

Southwest says law enforcement authorities have been informed and the plane has been removed from

service. In a post on social media, Lovefield says the runway was temporarily closed, but it's

since reopened, leaving minimal impact

on airport operations. They also say no injuries were reported. That's MPR's Dave Mistich.

House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffrey said Friday that the will of the American people was heard

on election day, but he said that does not mean Democrats will give up. He pledged to push back

on any far-right plans, and the New York congressman said he was most

concerned with the announced Trump cabinets.

Are some of these nominations a real path forward to solving problems for everyday Americans?

That's the question that I've been grapplingling with. Jeffries has been particularly critical

of Trump's nomination of Robert Kennedy Jr. to run health and human services. Immigration

advocacy groups are organizing in response to potential mass deportations expected under President

elect Donald Trump's second term. The Mountain West News Bureau's Yvette Fernandez has more.

Trump has vowed to carry out, quote,

the largest mass deportation in history.
