A Southwest Airlines flight was hit by a bullet Friday evening while it was preparing

for takeoff at Dallas's Love Field.

Southwest officials say flight 2494 safely taxied back to the terminal after the bullet

apparently hit the right outside of the plane just below the flight deck.

No injuries were reported. Police are investigated that incident.

As President-elect Donald Trump continues to announce picks for his cabinet, newly elected Senate

Majority Leader John Thune says the legislative body will be working hard to quickly confirm

those appointments. The president got a big mandate. The American people want change in this

country.

They're tired of the Biden-Harris Schumer agenda, and they want President Trump to fix some things.

And he wants to get a team in place that can do that. And we're going to work with him to see that he

North Dakota, Governor Doug Bergam, meanwhile, has been nominated to be the country's next

Interior Secretary.

He will also lead a newly created National Energy Council.

MPR's Kurt Siegler reports that Trump is pushing to fast-track energy development on public and private lands.

Trump has tapped North Dakota Governor Doug Bergam to lead the Department of Interior, which manages roughly a fifth of all the land in the U.S.
