Arab foreign ministers say they are pressing the US to call for a ceasefire in

Gaza. They met with Secretary of State Anthony Lincoln in Jordan who argues that a ceasefire

would simply allow Hamas to regroup and carry out more attacks like

October 7th.

And Piers Michelle Killaman has more.

Jordan's top diplomat calls the conflict a catastrophe that will haunt the region for generations.

At this point, I'm an alsophady doesn't believe this is about Israel's self-defense, he says

with every child killed in Gaza, the whole region sinks further into a quote sea of hatred.

Secretary Blinken says everyone wants to end this conflict in a way that ensures lasting peace.

You may have different views and positions on certain necessary steps to achieve that objective,

but today we reaffirmed our individual commitments to continuing to work toward that end.

He's trying to convince Israel to agree to limited pauses in its campaign to get more

aid into Gaza.

And when Hamas-backed militants crossed into southern Israel a month ago, they killed more

than 1400 people and kidnapped more than 240.
