President Biden says an all-out war in the Middle East has to be avoided.

Yesterday, the Israeli military

says it assassinated Hezbollah's leader Hassan-ASrala

in a missile strike on Beirut Friday

that also left civilians dead.

President Biden spoke to reporters at an airport following continued Israeli

airstrikes in Lebanon.

Biden says he plans to speak with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

but didn't say what they discuss.

Yes, I will be talking to them and I'll tell you what I say to them when I talk to them.

Biden says he's still working with the French and others to avoid a wider war.

Meanwhile, White House National Security spokesman John Kirby told ABC News that Israel's

strikes have proven effective at eliminating Hezbollah's chain of command, along with thousands of missiles and drones.

There's no question that the Hezbollah today is not the Hezbollah that it was even just a week ago.
