Former President Donald Trump met with Ukrainian President

below to Mayor Zelensky this morning.

NPR's Franco-Oordoneiers reports Trump pledged to work on a peace deal between

Ukraine and Russia.

Former President Donald Trump stood side by side with the Ukrainian leader whom Trump has previously mocked as a salesman who wants

Democrats to win. But during their meeting Trump said he was honored to host the

Ukrainian president at Trump Tower in New York and he touted touted his ties to Zulensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin

as reasons for his optimism that he could help win the war,

though he has not offered specifics.

We have a very good relationship,

and I also have a very good relationship,

as you know, with President Putin,

and I think if we win, I think we're going to get it resolved very quickly.

Salinsky is in the US as part of a longer visit to raise support for the war effort.

He met Thursday with President Biden and Vice President Kamla Harris.
