I'm Jack Spear.

The house has averted at least for now the threat of a government shutdown by a 341 to 82 vote

lawmakers overwhelmingly approving legislation that funds the government through December 20th.

The bipartisan spending bill postpones debate on full year funding levels

for federal programs until after the election,

government agencies would otherwise run out of money at the end of this month.

The Senate is expected to approve the bill today and send it to the President's

desk for his signature days ahead of the September 30th dent line.

Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris laid out more specifics of her economic agenda

today during an appearance in Pittsburgh acknowledging prices are just too high

and promising if elected she'll take steps to help the middle class.

Heiress pointing to initiatives she says will cut taxes for a hundred million Americans

while also incentivizing home ownership and cutting the cost of child care.

History has shown it.
