Ukrainian officials say a Russian strike in the Central region has killed at least 50 people.

Hundreds more were injured.

MPR's trueanna Kekisa reports from Kieve emergency workers say many people are still

trapped in rubble.

Two ballistic missiles struck a military training institute and a nearby hospital in Poltava, a quiet city that is far from

the front line. Ukraine's defense ministry said that those evacuating did not have time

to reach the bomb shelter.

In a video message, Ukraine's President Volodimer Zolensky urged his country's allies

to stop delaying the delivery of air defense systems.

He also repeated his plea to let Ukraine use long-range weapons to strike military targets in Russia.

Long-range strikes that can protect us from Russian terror are needed now, not later,

Zellensky said.

Every day of delay means more lost lives.

The latest polls show Vice President Harris gaining momentum,

but she and former President Trump are running a close race heading into next week's debate.

MPR's Medical Monitor closely tracking the race which is now down to nine weeks.
