Iran says the UN Security Council should hold Israel to account for the assassination of a Hamas

leader who was visiting Tehran.

Iran is warning it will retaliate while the U.S. and other Security Council members are calling

for de-escalization.

Isma Ohania was on an official visit in Tehran when he was killed in a quote horrible terrorist act.

He blames Israel and the US.

U.S. Ambassador Robert Wood says the U.S. had nothing to do with Hinnia's death or with the Israeli strike

in Beirut that killed a leader of the Iranian-backed group Hezbollah.

Wood says Iran should be held to account for the actions of its proxies, including a Hezbollah attack

that killed 12 children in the Israeli occupied Golan Heights.

He says the U.S. is trying to prevent a regional war.
