Trump and his valet will appear at a federal courthouse in Fort Pierce, Florida today.

NPR's Kerry Johnson reports on the latest hearing in a case that centers on classified documents

the FBI found Trump's Florida Resort.

The former president has all but asked Judge Aileen Cannon to postpone his trial on obstruction

and willful retention of defense information until after the 2024 election.

Trump is citing the challenge of finding a jury and his own busy schedule is he runs to

return to the White House.

But special counsel Jack Smith says there's no good reason to delay the trial for so

long.

Smith is pushing the judge to begin jury selection this December.

He's also proposing an order that would shield some classified information in the case,

from the public and from Trump and his valet, Walt Nauta.

Judge Cannon will be the ultimate decider.

Kerry Johnson in NPR News, Washington and Iowa Judge has temporarily blocked a new state

law banning abortion after about six weeks of pregnancy.

Iowa Public Radio's Natalie Krebs reports the state's governor has vowed to appeal.

The law was passed by the Iowa Legislature last week during a one day special session.

When Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds signed the bill at a gathering of conservative Christian

activists Friday, the law took effect immediately.

The chair and Wagner, a staff attorney with the ACLU of Iowa says the law bans abortion

before many people know they're pregnant as such.
