President Biden has wrapped up his four-day trip to Europe in Helsinki today.

Biden reassured the president of Finland that the U.S. remains fully committed to the NATO

Alliance.

Mr. President, at this critical moment in history, this inflection point, the world is watching

the sea.

Will we do the hard work that matters to forge a better future?

Will we stand together?

Will we stand with one another?

Will we stay committed to our course?

Biden has been in Europe to take part in the annual NATO summit.

During the gathering, the military alliance formally welcomed Finland as its newest member

and announced that Sweden will be next.

Before heading back to the U.S., President Biden took aim at Senator Tommy Tuberville.

Biden says the Alabama Republican is jeopardizing U.S. security by placing a hold on hundreds

of military promotions that require Senate approval.

NPR's Tamara Keith has more on that.

Tuberville is holding up the promotions because he objects to the Defense Department reimbursing

military families if they have to travel out of state to get access to an abortion.

Biden called on other Republicans to stand up to him.

The idea that we don't have a chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the idea that we

have all these promotions that are in a bayonet right now.
