In Northern Gaza, an emergency group says at least 38 people were killed by Israeli strikes today.

This has rescue crews dig through the rubble to find survivors.

Israel says its fighter jets struck two Hamas military sites in the Gaza City area

but didn't elaborate. The deaths come a day after at least 25 Palestinians were

killed, dozens injured, in strikes on temporary camps near the southern city of

Rafa.

And a hooty rebel attack on a commercial ship traveling through the Gulf of Aiden apparently

caused no damage.

It's the latest strike on the shipping lane by the Yemeni group.

The attack comes after the sinking this week of the ship, Tudor,

marking what appears to be a new escalation by Iranian-backed

huthies in their strikes on ships in the important maritime

corridor over the Israel-Hamass war in Gaza.

Preliminary data from U.S. Customs and Border Protection shows a drop in daily migrant

encounters in the two weeks since President Biden announced new asylum restrictions.

Texas Public Radio's Marian Navarro has more.

The actions place a temporary ban on entry of immigrants when daily encounters average 2,500

over a seven-day period and raises the threshold to grant asylum based on credible fear.

CBP says daily encounters fell by 25% since then.
