President Biden celebrated Pride Months with a celebration outside the White House today

calling for new measures to protect the rights and safety of LGBTQ plus people amid a spade

of what he called terrifying attacks and legislation.

President Biden's Emma Bowman has more.

Out on a crowded South Lawn, Biden condemned the wave of legislation introduced in several

states that target LGBTQ communities, especially transgender youth.

That's not like public. It's a fact.

The right to be yourself. The right to make your own health decisions.

The right to raise your own children.

On Thursday, the White House announced new initiatives to protect LGBTQ people from

attack to address homelessness among those communities and to counter book bans.
