Former President Donald Trump says he's been indicted by the Justice Department over

his handling of classified documents after he left the White House.

This marks the first time in history that a former president is facing federal criminal

charges.

In a post on Truth Social Thursday night, Trump claimed that he was innocent.

I did nothing wrong.

And we'll fight this act just like we've been fighting for seven years.

It would be wonderful if we could devote our full time to making America great again.

The indictment remains sealed, but attorneys for Trump say he's facing multiple charges,

including obstruction of justice, conspiracy, and false statements.

Trump says he will report to a federal court in Miami on Tuesday.

The haze of wildfire smoke pollution that shrouded the Northeastern US and mid-Atlantic

regions appears to be easing up.

NPR's Maria Gadoi reports while air quality is improving, pollution levels remain unhealthy

in some areas.

Young children, people with lung and heart conditions, and the elderly are among those

considered most at risk from fine particles in wildfire smoke.
