President Biden is set to sign into law today that bipartisan debt ceiling bill Congress

passed this week in his address to the nation last night.

Biden called a potential U.S. to fault.

A crisis averted.

And Pierce Franca Werdonia has more.

President Biden has another win to notch after the Senate followed the House and passed

legislation that cuts federal spending as well as suspends the debt ceiling until after

the 2024 election.

The bipartisan deal comes just days before the Treasury Secretary had warned that the

government would run out of money to pay its bills.

It also ends months of tensions in Washington after Republicans refused to raise the debt

limit unless Biden and the Democrats place more restrictions on federal spending.

The president tweeted after the Senate vote that no one gets everything they want in a

negotiation, but that senators voted to protect hard-earned economic progress.

Despite the debt ceiling agreement, the Fitch Credit Rating Company says it's maintaining

a negative watch on the government's credit because of repeated brinksmanship over the

issue.

The United Nations Security Council is calling on Sudan's warring factions to immediately

cease hostilities.
