In India, it's a national day of mourning.

After at least 280 people died, hundreds more were injured when two passenger trains derailed.

It happened last night in the eastern state of Odisha, some 140 miles from Kolkata.

The cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained.

A probe has been ordered and the Prime Minister held a high-level meeting to review the situation.

The authorities as well as the hospitals are completely overwhelmed.

There have been more than 200 ambulances there taking the injured to the hospitals.

Those who survive have been looking desperately for their loved ones.

And locals are rushing in large numbers to donate blood at the hospital.

Accidents are very common despite the government spending hundreds of millions of dollars to improve

the infrastructure.

This accident is believed to be the worst rail accident in a decade.

Mr. Biden today signed the debt ceiling bill into law of reading a U.S. debt default.

If it had happened, it would have been the first time in the country's history.

Congress passed that bill this week.

The longtime leader of Turkey was sworn in today after, for yet another five-year term,

after winning a run-off election last week.

The new term will extend his time serving as head of the country to a quarter of a century.
