hostages being held by Hamas are calling for acceptance of the ceasefire proposal outlined by President Biden yesterday.

Biden said the plan would free the hostages and end the war that's killed more than 36,000

Palestinians following the October 7th attack that left some 1,200 people some government says it won't budge on its goals. Israel says that its conditions to end the war have not changed.

Prime Minister Netanyahu's office said on Saturday that it will double down on

distracting Hamas's military and governance and ensure the release of all the

hostages before agreeing to any permanent ceasefire in Gaza. The statement came a

day after President Biden laid out a three-part plan to end the war.

Hamah said it welcomed what it called the American position and saw the plan as a

positive move.

Just earlier this week, Israel's national security Advisor said the war would last at least

South Africa's African National Congress Party has lost the majority for the first time

following the most tightly contested election since the end of apartheid 30 years ago.
