Troops have been deployed to the U.S.-Mexico border as the Biden administration prepares

for the end of the pandemic-era immigration restrictions, known as Title 42.

That policy allowed officials to quickly expel migrants who crossed the border.

People are now lining up at the border in southern states to cross into the U.S. as local

officials get ready for a rise in the number of people who cross into the U.S. but it will

be more difficult to claim asylum and the U.S. says it has agreements with other countries

in place to deny entry to some people and send them back to their country of origin.

Along the Arizona border, Maricopa County Sheriff Paul Penn's zone says the immigration

system is broken.

The failure to properly address issues of unlawful immigration at our border bleeds into our

communities throughout the state and throughout the nation.

It adversely affects our ability to provide public safety for our community.

Title 42 ends tonight.

Former President Donald Trump is continuing to reject a recent federal jury decision

that found him liable of sexual abuse and defamation against writer E. Jean Carroll.

As N.P.R. Zalena Moore reports, Trump addressed the case during a live town hall event hosted

by CNN.

Outside of online written statements, Trump's comments mark his first public response to

Tuesday's civil trial decision.

Speaking with CNN's Caitlin Collins, Trump denied knowing Carroll, who was accused the former

president of assaulting her in the mid-1990s.
