A day after an oval office sit down with congressional leaders and two days before a follow-up,

President Biden hit the road to make the case that linking a debt ceiling increased

to spending cuts is dangerous.

Biden took his message to the suburbs of New York.

One of the districts that gave Republicans their narrowhouse majority last year, the Democrats

hope to retake next year to regain control of the chamber.

Biden argued as the White House has for months that House Republicans are inconsistent

on their deficit concerns.

Over the last decade, the single largest contribution of the debt is side for the pandemic,

where the Trump tax cuts skewed to the wealthy and large corporations.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy is sticking to his stance that any increase needs to come

along with spending cuts.

He and Biden meet again Friday.

Their staffs have been continuing negotiations in the meantime.

Near a Congressman, George Santos pleaded not guilty to federal fraud charges in a long

island courtroom today, telling reporters he does not intend to resign.

A 13-count indictment accuses the first time Republican Congressman of wire fraud money

laundering, theft of public funds and making false statements to the House of Representatives.

Santos' attorney reached an agreement with federal prosecutors wanting to be released
