President Joe Biden is in California today, the president, among other things announcing

a deal with two of America's closest allies to provide nuclear-powered attack submarines

to Australia.

The agreement is being done in conjunction with the UK.

It will help Australia modernize its fleet at a time they're growing concerns about

China's influence.

So today, as we stand at the inflection point in history, where the hard work of enhancing

deterrence and promoting stability is going to affect the prospect of peace for decades

to come, the United States can ask for no better partners in the Indo-Pacific where so much

of our shared future will be written.

During his three-day trip to the West Coast, Biden will also discuss gun violence and his

plans to lower prescription drug prices.

New York state regulators seized the assets of signature bank last night, making it the

second bank to fail in three days.

But as John Campbell of Member Station WNYC reports, state leaders are urging people not

to panic.

New York Governor Kathy Hockle says a run-on withdrawals after the collapse of Silicon

Valley Bank on Friday helped lead to signature banks to MIS.

But Hockle says everyone should remain calm.

Their money is safe.
