Polls are beginning to close in some super Tuesday states at this hour that includes Vermont and Virginia, where we are awaiting vote totals.

Hundreds of delegates are at stake today as more than a dozen states hold presidential

primaries and caucuses.

MPR Sarah McCammon's been talking with voters in Virginia Beach.

Outside her polling place, Virginia Beach resident Christina Arneson said she has one priority.

Trump not being president.

Arneson says she voted for President Joe Biden in the Democratic primary.

He is better than the other options.

Across the street, at another polling site, Rob Stommel says he's been a Republican, but

he's increasingly frustrated with politics.

He backed former South Carolina Governor

Nicky Haley because he wants an alternative to Trump.

Even as remote as in my scene, but hey, I'm desperate.

Trump is widely expected to win multiple states tonight.

He has a substantial lead in both polls and the delegate count.

Vermont, with a population of under 650,000 people awards few delegates Virginia will be more closely watched.

Other key states holding primaries today include North Carolina where polls will be closing shortly, along with Alabama, Tennessee, Minnesota, Texas, and

California, just to name a few.

All told voting concludes in 16 states and one territory.
