Coleman, California Governor Gavin Newsom has declared states of emergency in 13 counties

because of the recent winter storms.

He's also calling in the California National Guard because some people are reportedly

trapped.

A staggering amount of snow has fallen in mountainous communities.

The chair of the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors is Don Ro.

She says conditions for some people in Southern California are dire.

Winter storm warnings are posted in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah.

in 2024.

As NPR's Barbara Sprunt reports, President Biden is rallying the lawmakers as the main speaker

of their conference.

President Biden was in his element as he ticked through legislation he signed into law,

including the bipartisan infrastructure bill and a sweeping climate and healthcare package.

He called on House Democrats to sell those accomplishments to the American people.

Folks, y'all know how much we've gotten done, but a lot of the country still doesn't know

it.
