gavls in tonight focusing on the U.S. relationship with China.

Witnesses will include two former national security officials in the Trump administration

and a Chinese dissident who will talk about China's human rights record.

Some Democrats are also members.

They say they want bipartisan policy toward China, including creating U.S. jobs and deterring

any potential Chinese invasion of Taiwan.

The White House is giving federal agencies a deadline to eliminate the video sharing

application TikTok from all government devices.

NPR's Giles Snyder tells us it's in a month.

Some federal agencies have already banned TikTok.

They include the White House and the Department of Defense, State, and Homeland Security.

Now the Office of Management and Budget is giving the rest of the federal government 30

days to purge TikTok over its link to China.

The OMB guidance follows up on Congress's vote in December to ban the app from government

owned devices.

Other lawmakers did allow for some exceptions, including law enforcement.

NPR's Giles Snyder reporting, separately, a House Committee is looking at legislation

that could permanently outlaw TikTok.

President Biden is heading to Virginia Beach today.

As NPR Scott Detro reports, Biden will use the trip to again draw contrasts to House

Republicans spending priorities.
