Israeli and Palestinian officials held a high-level security meeting and agreed today to take

steps to de-escalate tensions.

At the same time, a Palestinian gunman killed two Israeli brothers and Palestinian officials

say at least one Palestinian man was killed as Israeli settlers attacked Palestinians

in the occupied West Bank.

Israeli and Palestinian officials agreed to work together to prevent further violence

and end unilateral moves for a period of three to six months.

During that time, Israel's new right-wing government agreed not to make any new decisions

on Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank.

The sides agreed to meet again in March, with the goal of preventing violence when Ramadan

and Passover coincide in April.

At the same time, today's deadly Palestinian shooting of Israeli motorists in the West Bank

prompted groups of Israeli settlers to go on a rampage in a nearby Palestinian neighborhood.

They threw stones and set fires according to Palestinian human rights activists.

Palestinian medics reported at least 100 Palestinians were injured.

In East Palestine, Ohio, federal teams are going door to door conducting health surveys after

the train derailment three weeks ago that spilled toxic chemicals into the water, air,

and soil.

This has anxiety over the safety of the air and water grows.
