Students at Michigan State University are mourning after members of their community

were killed and injured in a mass shooting on campus last night.

Michelle Jokes-Polo from Member Station WKAR reports instead of celebrating Valentine's

Day, thousands of students at the University are grieving the loss of three members of their

community.

Yesterday evening, a gunman entered campus, killing three students and critically wounding

five others.

Autumn Sears, a senior majoring in finance, gathered with her friends on campus to pay

their respects and advocate for gun reform.

She says she wishes she didn't feel so disensitized to mass shootings.

Just so common, and it's like, not long.

Sears says she plans to join other students at the State Capitol Wednesday in a peaceful

protest urging legislators to pass gun reform laws.

According to police, the gunman died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound several hours

after the first shots were fired.

The diplomatic rift between the U.S. and China following the downing of a Chinese surveillance
