Harvard students are reacting to news today.

The school's president, Claudine Gay, is stepping down.

In Boston, Kirkcarapeza has more.

Gaye's departure follows increased scrutiny of claims that she plagiarized parts of her academic

work and persistent criticism of her congressional testimony on alleged campus

anti-Semitism. First year student Charlie COVIT is a member of the Jewish

campus group Harvard Hallell. He says he hopes the new interim administration

led by provost Alan Garber, will make the issue a priority.

It's important, I think definitely for the Jewish community that the main issue here really remain the anti-Semitism that hasn't gone away.

I don't expect it will go away.

Gay was the first black president in Harvard's nearly 400 year history.

Israel is declining comment, but a person who'd been targeted even before the October 7th attack

by Hamas militants has reportedly been killed.

Hamas and Hezbollah officials saying an explosion in southern Beirut has claimed the life of

Salah O'Ollari, one of the founders of Hamas's military wing.

According to Lebanon State-run national news agency, an explosion due to an attack by an Israeli drone killed four people

including the Hamas leader. California now offers health insurance to low-income immigrants

who are in the US illegally. Health reporter Jackie 40A with L.A.

Eust reports it's the latest in the expansion of the state's Medicaid program.
