And today is our monthly Q&A where we get to share questions and stories that you all

have emailed and sent into us. We've got some great ones this month. Deb, do you want

to start us off? Happy to do that. So this person writes, after hearing your Halloween

episode, I wanted to share a story of my own. Oh Samantha, this is great. We're still

having spooky stories. I'm coming. Okay, she says, when I was 10 years old, my great-grandmother,

who had lived with us since I was four, was dying of cancer. They hid from us how sick she really

was. And all I knew was that my grandparents were taking her to visit her home in Florida.

This was an unusual, so I didn't realize they were honoring her final wish to die in her home.

They left on a Friday. On the following Wednesday, I got a phone call from grandma.

She told me she was doing great and it was beautiful here. She told me she loved me and to give

my sister feet kisses. She had this thing when she would kiss the bottom of our feet when we were

little. I had outgrown it, but my sister was barely seven at the time and still loved it.

The call happened when I just got in the home and no one else was there yet.

I didn't mention it to anyone because it didn't seem out of the ordinary.

The next day, my mom sat down and explained that grandma had died on Tuesday.

I was confused and told her that wasn't possible because I talked to her yesterday.

My mom said I was probably getting my days confused. I told her it couldn't be because she was

always there on Tuesday afternoons, but Wednesday she worked until four. My mom just looked at me very

confused and didn't say anything else. Look at that. It's not even a spooky story. It's a beautiful one.

It is a beautiful story and you know, I understand and respect the story that this listener has shared

with us. My mom didn't speak to me through a telephone after she died, but she called me.
