Does your boss wear a t-shirt when you're still turning up to work in a suit?

Do you have a nose ring, a push bike or a neck tattoo? Do you paint your house

Magnolia White in a tasteful nod to minimalism or did your landlord do it in

order to cover up the mold? Do you bake your own bread? Are you worried about your cluttered

home, your skin texture, your over processed diet, the way a security guard looks at you or what an

interview panel might make of your shoes.

A complex network of cultural signifiers governs so much of the way we move through the world,

and it's deeply inflected by class, race, gender and disability.

To make it in the labour marketplace and in an increasingly image-orientated social world,

we are expected to be masters of the fine and delicate language of good

taste.

So what does that look like in practice?

What does good taste even mean? And what does it have to do with class?
