We are talking Notre Dame versus USC.

It's rivalry week up in South Bend, and there is a lot at stake.

You called me about an hour before the show started, and then we basically just talked for about 30 minutes about how fired up we are for this game.

There is a bunch at stake, a lot at stake.

And some of it's obvious and some of it is very rivalry specific.

The obvious ones, Notre Dame is 13th, USC is 20th.

Both teams are looking to build their playoff resume.

Notre Dame is writing a four-game win streak.

USC just picked up probably their biggest

win since joining the Big Ten, beating Michigan at home, the 15th ranked team in the country,

31 to 13. So both teams have momentum coming into this game for the first time in quite some time.

So that's kind of the obvious one. But Brian, there is a lot, a lot at stake for this matchup.

And some of it goes back to the conversation that we had in the first part of this show.

If this is, in fact, the last game of this rivalry, you got to win it.

Yeah.

Whether it's forever, for five years, whatever the case, you want to end this rivalry with the win, especially at your own field.

And especially even more so with what's at stake.

Both teams are essentially, like trying to kind of knock each other out of playoff contention.

I would argue that USC's

playoff hopes are not dashed by losing the Notre Dame. I think you've got to kind of play in

the Big Ten title game now at this point time, and they're now in a single elimination mode. But
