Joined as always by Bruce Feldman. What an exciting week. It's game week. It's week one. First full week of the season.

But we got to look back at week zero real quickly. And we've been doing Power 5 previews.

The one that we haven't gotten to yet is Big 12. Justin Williams. Our excellent Cincinnati and

Big 12 writer will be coming on to talk about that. So first of all, Bruce, basically there's two power five big name teams that played over the

weekend.

Let's start with Notre Dame, who beat the pants off of Navy, 42 to 3, really was over by

half time.

Sam Hartman threw four touchdowns, talk of the town afterward.

Was that your big takeaway or something else Notre Dame did that you're like, oh, huh, that could be interesting this year? No, I mean, Max Olson and I had our top 20, top 100 impact transfer rankings come out.

We had Sam Hartman, number one, feel very confident after he looked really sharp.

I mean, only four incompletions, also had four touchdown passes.

I think one of the things that we heard a lot of from the coaches at Notre Dame was how well he

distributes the ball. And he will be the best quarterback Notre Dame has probably had there,

I don't know, at least since Jimmy Claus and maybe since Brady Quinn. I think he's that good

and that big of a pickup for them. I don't know if he makes him a top 10 team, but he makes them much, much better. I just think they'll be able to operate. Navy's been really down. So I think it's like, you know, can't read too much into it. Did you have any other things that jumped out at you from watching the game? Well, first of all, I think you made, you know, the important thing is to keep it in perspective. Navy, not a great team last year, coaching change. You don't want to read too much into, you know, that they clobbered Navy. It'd be different if it was a better opponent. And because of that, it's hard for me to say, like, oh, Sam Hartman's amazing because of the defense he was facing.

But the triple option gives teams trouble, even a team like Notre Dame that faces it every year.

They gave up two big plays early, and then they just completely shut them down the rest of the way.

And I think that because of all the attention around

Sam Hartman, there hasn't been much talk of like, this could be a real, actually based on, I mean,

the veterans they have coming back, this could be a really good no-or-name defense, especially in the

front seven. Yeah, one of the, one of the freaksless guys I had really high up is Riley Mills.
