Talk about the Notre Dame quarterbacks, and we just spent some time covering CJ Carr,

but not the only quarterbacks to evaluate after spring.

We have Blake Hebert to talk about.

We have Noah Grubbs to talk about.

So while there's not a quarterback competition for the starting job underway in South Bend,

might not be as high octane as what

last spring was in the quarterback room. There is still a battle going on for the number two

spot and it's one that will carry over into the fall for reasons that we're going to lay out

here in this segment. But at the end of the day, it's not as, it's lackluster compared to

what we saw last year. And it's understandably so. You're, ideally, you're not going to need the number two quarterback to go out and beat Wisconsin by 19 and a half points like Fandwell has them favored to do right now. Ideally, it's the one position on the team, one of the few positions on the team that you don't want to have to dip into the depth. But there is still a battle going on nonetheless and some really,

really exciting young talent in that room. I think big picture before we get into each

individual player, Trevor, is there's talent here. That's the reality. If we could fast

forward these two quarterbacks a year, and we're going into

2026 and the backup battle is between a red shirt sophomore, Blake Hebert, and a red shirt

freshman Nolan Grubbs, I don't think we're worried at all about the backup quarterback situation.

I think it'd be very much like last year where C.J. is the starter.

But if something were to happen, you're like, yeah, you're going to turn to Kenny Minchie.

You'll be okay.

It's the lack of experience and the youth of these two players that is really the concern.

We watch it all spring.

There's no lack of talent in the quarterback room after C.J. Carr.
