I don't know if some of you guys have heard yet, up in the air if you have, but Notre Dame has an ongoing quarterback battle.

And I guess if you've been on vacation somewhere for the last four to five months and somewhere without internet,

Notre Dame is in a heated quarterback competition between Kenny Minchie and C.J. Carr.

What we're going to do in part two of today's show is we're going to break down some different aspects of this battle. It's still ongoing. We're going to give our overall thoughts on the situation. We're going to talk about some comments from Marcus Freeman and Mike Denbrock that were made in yesterday's press conference. And we're going to continue talking about this battle. But Brian, when we look at this, it's still ongoing. We've seen other schools kind of start to name who their starter is going to be. We saw Syracuse do that today. We saw Ohio State officially named Julian Sane today. Notre Dame is yet to do so. But you and I both have a feeling it's going to happen here relatively soon.

Yeah, you know, Marcus Freeman in the press conference on Saturday was obviously asked a lot of questions about the quarterback. And this is this comment after the scrimmage. He goes, we're still in competition. We'll go back and evaluate today's practice today, make a decision. We've got to, we've got to make a decision here soon. I don't know when we'll make it. I don't know. I don't want to put a timeline on it, but they've both been playing really, really well.

but they've both been playing really, really well. We've got two guys that have been battling all camp, and today was no different. There were some good things and things that we've got to get improved. And that's pretty much the story of fall camp is two talented guys, battling for the job. some days you think, Kenny's ready to take it over the next day. CJ's ready to take it over. And there's been that back and forth. And neither guy has really seized that role just yet, in my opinion, by pulling away from the other one. Is that good? Is that bad? We'll talk about that later. But I think we're at the point now, Trevor. We're less than two weeks away from the opener. I would, this is a guess on my part. This is not Intel. This isn't something I've been told. I assume they're going to get part of today off or at least have a more of a walk-through type of practice today, since they did have the big scrimmage yesterday. It was a live scrimmage yesterday.

And I think today is the day the staff sits down, talks at all through.

Again, my opinion, I'm not giving intel, my opinion, based on how this works in the past and looking at from coaching standpoint, I think you're going to see them sit down today.

And when they get back to practice tomorrow,

what I think will be more of a full practice tomorrow,

again, my opinion, you're going to see them have named a starter with the team.

Now, will that be named publicly?

That I don't know.

That I have no clue. We're not going to get

Marcus Freeman again until next week. A week from today is the next time we get Marcus Freeman for

a press conference. They may wait until then. I think it'll leak out. If they wait till Monday,

it's going to leak out if they have like the next two days,

you know, insert players taking all the one reps back to back days. Now, there will be some

stuff that will probably leak out after the first day. If they're not told, they'll still

have that leak out. Like I had somebody said, yeah, so and so was at practice on this day last
