So Mr. Trowbridge, I want to next talk about the Notre Dame defense.

And before we begin, let's talk a little big picture about this,

because I think this group requires an even greater caveat than the offense did,

because I got to be honest, dude, it was kind of hard.

I almost wanted to not do this whole thing because of

the defense. It's like, how do I put this group fifth? Well, that makes sense because they're

missing this. Okay, fine. But how do I put that group fourth? They weren't missing anybody and they

played really well. Yeah, but that's because this group did this, this, this, and this.

So I had a really tough time of that.

And by the way, as we kind of dive into the defense,

we do want to see y'all's rankings 5 to 1 of the defense.

What you think about the position groups, D&, D tackle, linebacker, corner safety.

But I got to admit, Trev, it was very challenging doing this one. And last time,

it was a no-brainer who number one was, as you guys are going to find out, that wasn't as much

of a no-brainer now as it was before the Jersey scrimmage and for good reason. And so there's

some groups that I thought performed better. They didn't raise up in the

rankings because the group that was ahead of them also performed better. I think we have still some

answers to find on defense, obviously, but way more answers now than we did going into the spring.

And then even going into the Jersey scrimmage about just personnel units, all those type of things.

I still have a lot of questions about what is a Chris Ash defense going to look like.

I still don't think we know they were working on things this spring.

I don't think they were like, this is who we are.
